Evaluation of the Product
To evaluate my end product, I used judgment in objective strands for the criteria. My research/conceptualization helped demonstrate a variety of knowledge of this outcome. The research plan effectively guided my investigation. (Refer to Appendix B) The knowledge I gained was comprehensively displayed in my video through the content. I was able to sequence each section of the video to the music piece that came along with it. A significant drawback I noticed was time management which hurried me to finish the product last-minute.
My video met the specifications concerning the user and audience. This is because we are all living through a pandemic and connect to some sort of music. This helped the target audience grasp an all-rounded view. I included various facts throughout the video which helped me achieve a good score. However, I could’ve been more precise in the music piece, avoiding unnecessary clips and including detailed information with a clear progression of ideas.
Aesthetically, I'm satisfied as I covered the requirements using a variety of colors making it approachable and connecting with the audience. My information was organized into a planned sequence, separated by the timeline of events. The content had significant information about the positive and negative aspects of coronavirus and outlining the future of the pandemic. Therefore, I gave myself a 6 for content and aesthetics. For functionality the product was well-articulated and authentic, including videos, images, factual information as well as good music that set the mood for each scenario, lastly, I believe all ages understood my video. So, I rewarded myself a 7 for these two criteria. Overall, my grade was a 7 for the product. (Refer to Appendix G)

Reflection
This project helped me expand my interest in music and relevant factors currently concerning the environment. Through the project, I gained a conscientious understanding of the global context and enjoyed the flow of my creativity. I recognized that these climatic changes adversely affected people all over the world. I also explored different platforms such as GarageBand and MuseScore to create and compose music. Looking into the emotional and impactful connections people have with music, made me acknowledge how I need to satisfy everyone in the target audience.
Initially, I faced challenges in forming the video, as I had too many ideas and I didn’t know if all of them were feasible. Discussing ideas with my parents, supervisor and music teacher eased my confusion. Additionally, I struggled with the production of music through GarageBand, especially editing and composing; however, through watching tutorials online and experimenting with the software, I was able to overcome these issues. This helped me consolidate a thorough plan and sequence of events which gave me the clarity to create an original piece.
To conclude, the project helped me evolve my approaches to learning and gained a profound understanding of my global context and raise awareness in a creative, captivating way. I was immensely pleased with my outcome as I was able to produce a professional and empathetic film. The experience I encountered over the past few months will be beneficial in the Diploma Programme, essentially in TOK, and written aspects of the Extended Essay.
